You must have seen the new trend on social media for Extreme Day Trips? No? Let me explain. 

With the rising cost of living in the UK a day trip to a European city is working out cheaper than the cost of a day out in the UK. 

For example Gatwick to Geneva on 8 August is just £90 with EasyJet. With no accommodation to pay for and loads of free stuff to see and do when you’re there it’s coming in significantly cheaper than a train ticket within the UK. 

Or, if you don’t mind flying out and back in to different airports, what about London to Luxembourg for just £65

If London is a bit of a hike Manchester is a good bet - a day trip to Dublin will set you back just £28.
